Arbor Mundi

Climate change, intensification of agriculture, urbanisation... Our regional ecosystems and their biodiversity are under pressure from many sides. At ArborMundi, we not only promote awareness but also practical ways of taking action to counteract this. What does that mean in concrete terms? Since 2022, students have been planting over 100 native standard trees and endangered hedge species every year. Together with municipalities and landowners, we are strengthening regional ecosystems and contributing to climate protection. But that's not all! Through Changemaker workshops at schools, ArborMundi teaches practical skills for individuals and groups to implement their own sustainability projects.

Want to get involved too? In the tree planting project, you will help with the organisation by contacting communities or landowners and coordinating plantings. In event organisation, you will support us with workshops. In communications and public relations, you will create posts for social media, write blog articles or do press work to raise awareness of ArborMundi. In fundraising, you can contribute creative ideas on how we can secure funding for our projects. If you want to support young people in realising their own sustainability projects, you are our person for the Changemaker Workshops. Whether negotiating with communities or planning new plantations - there are a variety of tasks in which everyone can take on direct responsibility.

We have a general meeting about once a month and project-specific meetings every 4-8 weeks as required. The meetings usually take place in English. The workload varies from task to task, but it is clear that we help and support each other in stressful times. Ultimately, we are working towards a common goal: a greener and more sustainable Switzerland. And when we can achieve and celebrate successes together in our motivated team, the work pays off even more and simply makes it cool to be involved.
